Celebrities are bound to be embroiled in controversies. The famous American actress Jessica Marie Alba, who is well known for her roles in Dark Angel, Sin City, Fantastic Four and Into the Blue, is no exception.
The recent issue faced by her was when the March 2006 issue of Playboy magazine published Jessica, who is regularly listed by several entertainment magazines as one of the most beautiful or sexiest women alive, in a bikini on the cover.

Boiling the issue, Jessica Alba threatened to sue the magazine, claiming that Hugh Hefner & Co, the publisher of Playboy magazine, is trying to make it seem that she appears in a nude or semi-nude jesica alba celebrity in news pictorial.

Alba’s lawyer has demanded that Playboy magazine stops distributing their magazine and provide the actress with a monetary settlement for its unauthorized use of her image for commercial purposes. Alba’s main contention was that the magazine has duped readers into thinking she was nude inside.
Though Playboy magazine had named Alba among its 25 Sexiest Celebrities and also the Sex Star of the Year in the March issue, the litigation did not stop.
In fact, Playboy had initially offered to pay Jessica Alba to appear on the cover, but the offer was refused by the 25-year-old actress. Following this, Playboy magazine had made efforts to get approval from the Columbia Pictures to publish a promotional photograph of bikini-clad Jessica Alba, and the venerable men’s magazine published the sultry image from the 2005 film Into the Blue. Joining the celebrity, the Columbia Pictures also has demanded apology from the magazine for its outrageous and unethical behavior.
The hot news was alive till Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine, sent a personal apology and pledged to donate money to her favorite charities.
Personal life of Jessica Alba, whose big break came when the writer/director James Cameron picked Alba from a pool of 1,200 candidates for the role of the genetically-engineered super-soldier, Max Guevara, on the Fox sci-fi TV series Dark Angel, is too haunted by the media.
The recent news that hit the glitterati world was when Jessica Alba said she has curves, but she doesn’t really like them and wishes to be skinnier and taller. She was also chased by the paparazzi when she and Cash Warren started hunting for a house in the Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles. Cash was the director’s assistant on Fantastic Four, and they had been having a friendly affair while filming Fantastic Four. In fact, Jessica Alba was engaged to her Dark Angel co-star Michael Weatherly, but it was called off before she began dating Cash Warren.
Jessica Alba, who has no problem with one night stands, prefers a much older man as her ideal partner, making references to Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, and Michael Caine. “I have this thing for older men. They’ve been around and know so much,” she said.

Lower East Side bohemians, Boho campies, East Seventies campies etc. and Baby Jane Holzer
Tom Wolfe was the first to define the new trend in fashion and society.

The alternative version of society had gone by several names-Smart Set in the 1910's, Cafe Society in the 1920's through 1950's, high bohemia in the 1930's and 1940's and now Wolfe detected yet another turn in the grand social wheel, the sixties debutantes cared little about appearing in the Social Register; they wanted to be seen in Eugenia Shepard's column, dancing in discotheques and wearing trendy boutique couture which Wolfe called "pariah fashion". It was born not in the bastions of wealth or traditional chic but in the black subculture even working-class from South Flordia and no one epitomized that particular kind of New York anything-goes glamour better that Holzer. In 1964 Tom Wolfe pronounced her "Girl of the Year".

Community Punk (Punk Flow)

1. Anarcho PunkPunk community that this is indeed belong to one community that is very hard. You could say they are very close themselves with other people, violence is likely to be already a part of their lives. Not infrequently they also clashed with the other fellow punk community. Anarcho Punk are also very idealistic with the ideology they profess. Ideology they profess them, and the Anti-Capitalist Anti-authoritarianism.

2. Crust PunkIf you think that the Anarcho Punk Punk community is a very brutal, then you should listen to this one. Crust Punk itself was claimed by the punk community of others as the most brutal punk community. The adherents of this ideology is called with Crusties. The Crusties often perform a variety of rebellion in their daily lives. The music they play is an amalgamation of anarcho punk music with Heavy Metal. The Crusties these are people who are anti-social, they just want to socialize with fellow Crusties only.

3. Glam PunkThe members of this community are the artists. What they experience in everyday life often they pour themselves in various works of art. They really stay away from disputes with other communities or even with other people.

4. Hard Core PunkHard Core Punk began to expand in the 1980s in the northern United States. Music with shades of Punk Rock with a beat-beat music that is fast becoming obligatory them. Rebellion soul is also very strong in their daily lives, sometimes even their fellow members are often problematic.
Bands with a hard-core punk is still very rampant, especially in the underground scenes, with only the music called no-frills hardcore punk.

5. Nazi PunkAmong the many community Punk, Nazi Punk maybe this is a community that really is still pure. Nazi ideology is really thick to flow in the souls of its members. Nazi Punk itself began to flourish in England in the late 1970s and very quickly spread to the United States. For his own music, they named it Rock Against Communism and Hate Core.

6. The OiThe Street Punk Oi or is usually composed of the Hooligan who often makes trouble everywhere, even more so in every football game. Its own members usually called by the name of Skinheads. The Skinheads itself adheres to the principles of hard work is mandatory, so although they are also prone to riot are still thinking about their survival. For the music business, the Skinheads are more willing to express his music is dibandingakan with communities Punk others. The Skinheads are themselves often have problems with Anarcho Punk and Crust Punk.

7. Riot grrrlRiot grrrl is taking shape in 1991, its members are the women who came out of the Hard Core Punk. These members themselves do not want to hang out other than with women. Usually its own members from Seattle, Olympia and Washington DC.

8. Queer CorePunk community of this one was very strange, its members consist of people who are sick, that is the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual. Although composed of people who are sick, but this community can be a danger if anyone dared to disturb them. In life, the members of this community is much more closed than the communities Punk others. Queer Core itself is a result of the split of the Hard Core Punk in 1985.
9. Scum PunkIf you are interested in punk, maybe this is one community that deserve to be followed. Scum punk named the members as Straight Edge scene. They really comfort, cleanliness, moral goodness and health. Many members of Scum punk who did not consume substances that can damage their own bodies.

10. The Skate PunkSkate Punk is still closely associated with the Hard Core Punk musically. This community is growing rapidly in the area of Venice Beach, California. The members of this community are usually very loving skate board and surf.
11. Ska PunkSka Punk is a very interesting merger between Punk with music from Jamaica which is called reggae. They also have their own type of dance they used to call the Skanking or Pogo, this highly energetic dance to the music of Ska Punk who has beat-beat very fast.
Until now the music is still famous Jamaican Roots and many devotees. Reggae and ska music is even better known now as the music rasta with leaf emblem canabiss (marijuana) and Jamaica flag (red, yellow, green).
I myself loved the reggae and ska, the music really good for dancing n ngilangin stress head. What else again if there are live bands ska n reggae. Uhh, could be delirious dance was so excited.
12. Punk FashionThe punkers usually have a very interesting way of dressing, even some people who are not punkers emulate their makeup is. Sometimes the style of the punkers are also coupled with the current style of dress that ended up damaging the image of the punkers themselves.

Gob at Fashion Week

Fashion week is funny to me because it all seems really awkward - especially the F/W ones (because it's so cold out but everyone wants to prance around in tiny outfits) and any that invite Paris Hilton (she's somewhat of a celeb pariah, no?).

Exhibit 1: look at the Paris effect on little Amanda Bynes!

Exhibit 2: Only Paris could simultaneously make Kristin Bell and Michelle Trachtenberg look completely schlubby.

Then Mens fashion is just pointless. It's all just variations of suits. And when it's not, nobody will ever wear it. Except maybe Kanye West, but he'll choose one item of a thousand and then it will be everywhere for the next year. Which, I guess, is the point .

This group is super awkward. It's Kanye (understandable), Jared Leto (looking sadly past his prime), Chace Crawford (looking to get photographed), and someone who looks just like Gob but is allegedly named Patrick Wilson.

Exhibit 3: Just unbutton the shirt, and he's Gob!

The one show that looks like it would've been any fun to attend is Rag & Bone - mainly because of the starting lineup. You've got bananas Rachel Zoe, Jimmy Fallon, and two smiling celebs wearing weather-appropriate clothes.

It was not so long ago that Victoria Beckham was treated like a pariah in fashion circles.

Stylists sneered at the former Spice Girl's outfits and designers refused to loan her clothes, whispering that her endorsement was the kiss of death.

But Mrs Beckham has undergone one of the biggest fashion reincarnations since Burberry was transformed from a dowdy Home Counties staple into an international celebrity favourite.

As her fourth collection was presented in London yesterday, at Mayfair's Savile Club, stylists and editors ate low-fat slivers of humble pie while running the rule over dresses they now covet.

Two rails of frocks, each bearing her signature brass zip down the spine, drew admiration from even the most cynical fashionistas.

While the collection's structured simplicity had much in common with her previous ones, it revealed that Posh's designs have developed.

There was intricate seaming and more diaphanous fabrics such as chiffons and lamés

Origami-influenced sheath dresses in heavy rib jerseys nestled alongside glossy raffia tweeds tailored into understated dresses that owe more than a nod to a young Grace Kelly or Tippi Hedren.

Such pared-down silhouettes cut with the precision of a master tailor have become her look, and it seems she's on to a winner.

'The clothes rarely reach the shop floor,' said a spokesman. 'Clients see the collection and put their names down in advance, so it's unusual to see the pieces merchandised in retail spaces - they're sold before they can get there.'

And that's despite the high price tags - an 'entry level' dress from the current collection costs £1,000, while prices for the more intricate gowns start at £4,000.

Why? These are grown-up clothes for sophisticated women - high-profile fans include Elle Macpherson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Hudson - and they cater for even the more voluptuous figures within the English sizes six to 14.

Like any designer at the helm of a burgeoning fashion business, Victoria employs a team to help translate her style into a commercial collection, but one of her design assistants said yesterday: 'From the shade of teal that's just so, to the weight of the lamÈ for the bodice of a dress, Victoria is in control every step of the way.'

Certainly, what Posh wants, she gets. While there are no plans for theatrical catwalk shows yet, her empire is slowly expanding, into sunglasses and denim

And with predicted sales of £7.5million in the next three years, it seems she is now a fashion force to be reckoned with.

The need for speed

When I saw this picture on The Sartorialist it reinforced for me just how good a vintage Speedy can look. I say "vintage" because the leather trim on the newer bags is much paler and will never mellow to the same nut brown color as the leather on the older ones. At the moment it seems that the Speedy a bit of a fashion pariah so it's wonderful to see someone carrying one and looking so good...her companions accessories are also perfect, I'm usually not a huge fan of this style of Chloe shoe but in this instance it works.

My own Speedy just about falls under the vintage umbrella. It was actually my first "good" bag, purchased when I was 14 or 15 and used relentlessly. Happily, it seems to be virtually indestructable...it's been crushed, squashed, and sat on...it's withstood rain and snow and, once it had been left to dry out, always looked as good as new. Well, I say "good as new" but it's gained a kind of worn beauty...

The most distinctive aspect of Buccellati pieces is the rich textural quality, Mario Buccellati was the first to introduce the technique of texture-engraving. The most renowned engraving techniques are rigato (parallel lines cut onto the surface of metal to obtain a sheen effect), telato (texture, obtained by fine cross-hatched lines, which imitates linen surface), segrinato (engraving in every possible directions, overlapping textures), ornato (decoration, based on nature forms: animals, leaves, flowers), modellato (the most delicate engraving technique, which consists of reproducing several designs chiseled in three dimensions on a minuscule scale, mainly used for the decorations of the borders). Pieces are created to look and feel like silk, damask, tulle, lace, or linen. Use of mixed metals (silver and gold, platinum and gold) is also typical. If gemstones are used at all, they are often unusual: large cabochons, carved emeralds and rubies, rose-cut diamonds.

According to family history, the Buccellati's first foray into the jewelry trade was in the mid-eighteenth century when Contardo Buccellati worked as a goldsmith in Milan. In 1903, Mario Buccellati revived the family tradition, apprenticing at Milan’s prestigious Beltrami & Beltrami at the age of twelve. In 1919, Buccellati took over the firm, changing its name to Buccellati. International acclaim quickly followed. While exhibiting at Madrid’s 1920 Exposition, Mario Buccellati caught the public’s attention when he hurled an expensive compact out a window when a woman asked for a discount, shouting, “I am not a tradesman!” The next day, hundreds turned up to look at his booth, curious to see the unknown jeweler’s pieces. Everything sold. Buccellati was then invited to exhibit his work at a solo show; Spanish aristocrats came in droves, including the royal family who became lifelong clients.

In the years that followed, Buccellati’s work gained a loyal following in Italy and abroad. Poet Gabriele D’Annunzio dubbed him “The Prince of Goldsmiths” and ordered pieces by the hundreds. As his five sons came of age, all but one entered the business: Frederico, Gianmaria, Luca, and Lorenzo. New stores were opened in Rome (1925) and Florence (1929). In 1951, Buccellati became first Italian jewelry designer with a location on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
